This has been a week of first for Micah. He started pulling up about two weeks ago and has that down. He loves to pull up. Wednesday night after church I had had let him down to play. He was climbing up the step. It took very little time for him to climb up the first time and after a few times he has climbing without any trouble. He climbed so much he wore himself out. He also waved tonight moving his fingers. Mr. Bob, one of the older members from church was here and when he left, Micah waved and was so sweet. He grinned the biggest grin and was so precious.
Eli is getting so big. He is trying to go to potty by himself and that needs more practice but he will get there. Micah also got his first pair of real shoes this week. They are a pair of brown boots. Eli looked at Micah's boots and sighed, "I need a pair of boots like Pop and Micah." So we are going tomorrow to get a pair for Eli.
I wanted to go shopping this morning but was unable too. I had to work. I am one of the crazy ones how like to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving.

Micah's 9 month checkup
Micah had his nine month check up today. He weighed 20lds 15oz. He was 28 1/4 inches long. Way to go Micah. His iron check was a little low so we are doing the iron supp and go back next month to have it rechecked. That is said because not only did he get poked today and shots he will have to get poked next month too. Oh well. He is pulling up to everything. Rechild proofing the house has started. The shots have not seemed to hurt Micah. He is down crawling at normal speed.
Eli went to potty today without any help! He has done so good. I am so blessed. He is growing so fast. Too fast. I wish time would slow some. The day of him starting school is coming too quickly. It may still be two years away but that is too close.

Eli prays
Friday night we sat down to eat supper and Eli says the prayer. He starts, "Dear God, for the people, 1,2,3,4,5,6 and for yesterday Amen." He pointed at everyone at the table as he counted. He was so sweet. He loves to say the prayer. I know it is short but I have lots to do.

You made me feel better....
Eli says the sweetest things. We were in town on Friday. I had worked and Lollie, Pop and the boys meet me after work in town. We were in Target looking around the one they just built in Decatur and I was putting Eli into the buggy and kissed him as I put him in. He looked up at me and said "You make me feel better." His voice carried one of excitement as he said that. And all because of a kiss that was just because he was close enough to kiss. After the week I had it was what I needed to hear. He is so sweet.
And Micah...He is growing too fast. He made his first animal noise this week. He is a lion. He is so cute when he growls. He is whistleing for Gizmo. And today during church he pulls up for the first time. He reached his arms up and grabbed the back of the pew and pulled right up without any trouble.
Tonight after church we had the youth devo. Eli loves to catch frogs and play with them but not always touch them. We caught a tree frog just before we left. He let it crawl all on him and held it. He was laughing that deep belly laugh and wiggled every time it moved but always let Lollie put the frog back on him. Micah also got to touch the frog and was so funny. His expression never changed. I have some pictures I hope to have time to put on tomorrow.

Eli and Micah
The boys are doing good. Eli has been a little under the weather. Nothing serious, just a little runny nose. Hopefully he is on his way to getting better. He was not as ill this afternoon after he got up from his nap. Micah is getting so big. He has a new tooth. It came in on Tuesday of last week. He drank from a straw today. It was amazing to watch.
I have some pictures of the boys that I hope to upload tomorrow. We went and played with Bradon and Gavin one day last week. Lollie also took some sweet pics today of the boys outside.

When the light comes on...
Tonight as I was getting Eli to sleep we were talking about what we were going to do tomorrow. I was telling him we were meeting some friends for lunch in Athens and then going to go to Adria's and play with Bradon and Gavin. He was excited! It has been a while since we have seen them. He is talking about going and all the sudden says, "When the lights come on." I asked him what. He points to his window and says, "When the lights come on. It is dark out there right now." It was so cute. He has such a simple way of putting things. Why do we have to lose that as we get older.
Micah turned 8 months today. He also has a new top tooth. That makes three. He is really good at grinding that tooth with the two on the bottom and it sounds awful. He is growing so fast.

Singing
Tonight was singing night at church. Eli lead a song with Pop. We were late getting to church. We got there right at the start of church because of late naps. Pop and Eli had not talked about Eli leading a song, but when Pop got up to lead Eli went too. They sang "I Know that my Redeemer Lives." He was so cute. He of course did not sing, even though this is one of his favorite songd, but the facial expressions were priceless. Micah of course helped sing throughout the service. He is becoming very vocal.
Start of another week
We were able to eat lunch with Mimi and Monk today. We met them after church and then they came out to the house for a little while. The boys played while they were here and Mimi and Monk were able to see what they do. Eli of course had his Hot Wheel out playing. Oh, he started pedaling on Thursday. He still likes to just use his feet better but can pedal if he wants too. Micah of course was in hot pursuit of Eli in his walker. They go in circles as fast as they can. It is so fun to watch. But you must watch out for your toes or they will become victims.
Both of the boys are sleeping now and I need to do some laundry.

One question
Thursday night, Eli and I were in my room. He was on my bed and I was on the computer doing something. Eli goes "One question." I say "Okay, what is your question." "Where Lollie?" I tell him where Lollie is and he then asks where Pop is. I tell him, "No, that is two questions." He sits there a few seconds and then looks at me and says, "One question." I say okay. "Where Pop and Lollie?" I laughed so hard. Eli is so fun and using his reasoning ability really early!
We have so enjoyed the weather. We spent several afternoons outside. Pop and Lollie have been working in the yard in the evenings and Eli has been helping. Eli loves to dig in the dirt and help plant flowers. Micah enjoys being outside also. He is still just a little to small to be down helping.
We had family out tonight to eat for my birthday which was on Tuesday. We had so much fun. My grandmother even came. She is not in the best of health and it was special to have her here.

Fun in the sand
Micah had his first experience with sand today. Eli had gotten a turtle last summer and loves to play in the sand. Eli likes the beach but we dont live close enough. He has to settle for the pool and the turtle sand box. Micah was not too sure of it at first put enjoyed it once he was in the sand a little bit.

Not much new
We have had a quiet and good weekend. We went to Athens yesterday and spent some time with Mimi and Monk. Eli got to run around outside some and ride the tractor so he was very happy. Micah enjoyed the time outside too. He likes to watch the dogs run around.
Today in church Micah was very vocal. He helped sing and said amen to prayers. He is so sweet and starting to show his personality. He has a little temper that is starting to come out some.
Work is still good. I am really enjoying it. I know I said pictures would come soon about two weeks ago. I have not forgotten. I just have not had time. Hopefully this week I will be abe to get time up.

Just an update
Just a quick update on the three of us. The boys are great! I will try to get some pictures posted this week. They both seem to be changing daily. Eli is still doing great with potty training. We have now made it three weeks with no accidents and he is starting to tell me when he needs to potty. Way to go Eli. Micah is always happy. He is starting to get into everything. It is amazing how mobile one can be in a walker and on the belly. He is so funny. If he sees a toy in the floor he will bend as far over the walker as he can to look at it and then try to walk to it. Of course he will lose sight of it and then back up and try again. He will take two or three steps and then pick up his feet and glide. We have hard wood floors so he glides really well. The boys still are going really good getting along too. Eli will make sure Micah has a toy or passy if he needs one. Micah will reach for Eli whenever he is near and also grins when he sees Eli.
The job is going good. I am enjoying the work. It makes me a little nervous still to have money to count, but I am getting there. The boys are doing so good staying with Pop and a lady from church. Today was there first day with Mitzi and things went great. I was worried more about Micah with me breastfeeding. But he is going great taking the breast milk from a bottle. We tried a cup the first day and he did not go for that.
Eli needs a bath and Micah is already down, I hope for the night. I think Micah had slept an hour all day. Till next time....

Eli sings
Eli loves to sing. He loves to lead singing here at the house. When we read Bible stories you have to first sing the song and then read the story. Last night at church, Pop asked Eli what we should sing. He says "Some glad morning." Which of course is I'll Fly Away and one of his favorite songs. Pop says okay and it is the first song he leads. Eli helps sing by singing so loud that he is singing louder than Pop is the song leader. It was priceless. To hear him sing with that much gusto was priceless.
Micah is playing with my foot right now. I need to get him down for a nap.

Micah's new trick
I was getting clothes ready to wash this morning and Micah was playing in the floor. He was in Eli's room on his belly playing. When I checked on him he has sitting up like a big boy. He has sat himself up twice this morning. Time is passing too quickly. I wish they would stay little just a while longer.

Sweet stories
Sunday night was singing night at church and we also eat afterwards. As Halley, my sister, and Glenn, her husband, were leaving Eli asked if he would see them tomorrow for supper. He goes on to invite them for supper Monday night. Halley calles Monday to let me know that they are coming to eat and I asked if Mom invited them and she says, "No, Eli did." This was the first I had heard about the invitation but Mom already knew. We ended up having a very nice dinner. Eli was a very good host. It was sweet.
Last night, I was working on getting things cleaned up from the day and putting away clothes while the boys were outside with Pop and Lollie. Eli told them they needed to study "the word". He goes inside and gets a book for Lollie and himself. They then studied. He is so much fun.

Good job Eli!
As of today we have had an accident free week with potty training. That includes a trip to Nashville and back. Way to go Eli. Things have really clicked with him in the last week or two. I am very thankful for that blessing. He and Micah are both such blessings.
We went to Nashville to see Mamaw and Papaw Wells. Mamaw had to have hip replacement surgery. She did great. They live in Kentucky so we dont see them as often as I would like for us to. I could not pass up a shorter trip to be able to see them. We also got to eat lunch with Aunt Alice and Aunt Betty Jean. They are my great aunts who live in Nashville. They enjoyed some time with the boys.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Trip to Mimi and Monk's
We went to see Mimi and Monk on Saturday. Eli enjoys playing there. His favorite toy is Monk's tractor. He loves to ride and got to drive Saturday. Monk would point the direction and Eli would turn the wheel and off they would go. Bradon and Gavin, my nephews, came to play also. Bradon is 5 and Gavin is 1. They had lots of fun.

Sweet Kids
Here are the kids I babysit. We go to church with their families. Dane was two in July and Bryleigh will be two in January. She was adopted and is from China. She came home in December. It is amazing how fast she has adjusted. They are both very sweet and they all play really well together. I, of course, had to include some of Micah also.

Milestones reached
Micah reached two new milestones today. First, he crawled over my leg while we were playing in Eli's room. It was almost done without my realizing what he was doing. I was playing with Eli and Micah had seen something he need and went after it. He also feed himself a puff today. It was so fun watching him work to get it in his mouth. He just grinned when he succeed. He is so precious.
Eli is also reaching some milestones. The potty training is starting to click. We have has some outings without accidents and also a day or so without any. Hopefully, he will continue and have the potty training down before too much longer. I don't know that I ever thought I would be so happy to share information about potty training, especially over the Internet. Oh well, how times change.

How quick they learn
Last night we were eating supper after church. Eli had some veggie chips and was breaking one into small pieces. He hands one to my mom and says "Here Lollie, Lord's Supper." He then breaks off a piece for me and him. We had to take the Lord's Supper. It was precious. I can remember playing church at my grandparents house with my sisters and cousins. Now I get that privilege with my children. We as parents have such a huge responsibility in training our children.
Micah is low crawling everywhere. He can get to any place in the house and faster than you can turn around. We have a very eventful few months before us.

Book to read
For those of you that have boys, I really encourage you to read Harry Potter. I finished the last book early this morning. The books are wonderful. I look forward to reading them with Eli and Micah. I was sad to see the journey end.
Micah is feeling better. He still looked a little pale yesterday but he is back to his old self. We are taking pictures this week for his six month and Eli's three year. My sister Halley is taking them for me. She does a good job.

Sick baby
Micah was sick for the first time last night. He had a little stomach bug. He was so sad. He was smile at you and then up it would come. Then he would look at you and just cry. Thank goodness it was a very short lasting bug. He was able to sleep pretty good last night, which means mom slept too. He has played today and been good. It has been a rough week for the little guy. First shots and now this.

Trip to the doctor
The trip to the doctor is over! Eli cried. He did not have to have a shot and that was a good thing. He had to have a tooth capped about six weeks ago and I was unable to go back with him then. Eli was so scared I was going to leave him. Once the doctor got in there and started talking with us and to him, he calmed some. He still dod not want to be anywhere but in my lap but the doctor was able to check him out. I thought he might have to have a shot but we were up to date and was a blessing.
Micah did like always, laughed while the doctor was checking him. He weighed 19 lbs 3 ozs and was 26 1/2 inches long. He got four shots, but did great! I learned with Eli to give the tylenol before we left for the appointment and that helps. He cried some but calmed quickly. This was only his second set of shots. We opted to wait till he was four months to start shots.
We went to eat with some friends for lunch afterwards and then to WalMart. They are both sleeping now and I plan on reading. I am a Harry Potter fan and am just over halfway with the finally book. Hope all have a great day!

First time for everything
I had to do something yesterday that I have never done before. Eli did not have a nap yesterday so last night during church he pitched a fit that I could not let go. Thus I had to take him out and spank him. Even if he had had a nap this fit would have gotten a spanking. For him to be three years old and me to just now have given him his first spanking during church, I am very blessed.
We go tomorrow for Eli's three year check and Micah's six months check. I know Micah gets shots but I also think Eli gets shots as well. It may be a long day.

Okay, so maybe...
I guess potty training is not so bad. I must remember that he is just three. And he will do this in his own time. It will click with him one day. Micah has started to walk forward in his walker. This of course opens a whole new world. Not only is he moving in the walker, but he is also moving on the floor with his knees and feet. That means he will be crawling soon and what do I do with Eli's toys then! My two sweet boys are growing too fast.

I hate potty training!
Of all the jobs a mom has to do, I have found that I dislike potty training. Eli knows so many words and thinks though way to may situations, but can not tell me he needs to potty. I got him some big boy underware for his birthday and we have done good so far. Only two accidents in two days. But today we had a stinky accident and I dont enjoy cleaning up. I would rather change dirty diapers than clean that up. Oh well, hopefully this will get better...soon.

Happy 3rd birthday Eli!
Eli turned three yesterday. It does not seem that it has been three years since I was blessed with Eli. The time has passed too fast. I fear time will only continue to speed by. Eli wanted a tractor on his cake, thus we did a John Deere theme. Eli loves anything with wheels. The kids played with a tee and bat and bubbles before we opened presents and ate. They all seemed to have fun. I am glad that birthdays come only once a year. I now have to find places for all the presents!

Trip to Chattanooga
Yesterday we went to Tennessee to the aquarium in Chattanooga. Eli had a blast. He loved it. Micah enjoyed it as well. He loved seeing the water and watching the penguins. They have a wade pool outside the aquarium now. Eli and Micah both got to play in it. Eli was soaked, but someone had told us about the pool so we were prepared with extra clothes. Micah loves water and tried so hard to put his face in the water, but Lollie would not let him. Lollie is what Eli calls my mom. Now back to the daily routine. Well, if we had a daily routine we would go back to it.

We went to my uncle's farm today. The boys had so much fun. Eli and Micah both love to be outside. Eli got to drive the tractor with my uncle. It was very neat seeing that the tractor belonging to my grandfather. We have pictures of me on the tractor and now both my boys also. It was a great day, full of lots of fun.
